Wild Berry underwent a comprehensive refit and warranty programme at Whangārei.

The project involved extensive yard involvement across structural, mechanical, electrical, and cosmetic systems. Works included underwater coatings, propulsion and running gear servicing, HVAC and electrical fault resolution, interior modifications, and a range of manufacturer warranty corrections and refinements.

Overall, the scope represented a complex, multi-phase rectification and upgrade programme, addressing both performance-critical systems and onboard finish quality across the vessel.

Scope overview

  • Yard operations & vessel handling – hardstand setup, haul/launch operations, dive support, storage management, utilities connection, access systems, scaffolding, lifting operations, vessel movement coordination, waste management, and full project management across all phases.

  • Hull preparation, coatings & underwater works – high-pressure waterblasting, antifouling systems, Propspeed application, hull scraping and cleaning, barrier coatings, anode replacement, corrosion protection, rudder and running gear servicing, underwater preparation, and paint system application.

  • Mechanical, propulsion & onboard systems – propulsion alignment and shaft works, engines, generators, stabilisers, thrusters, hydraulics, pumps, watermakers, fuel and freshwater systems, sewage systems, and comprehensive electrical and system diagnostics.

  • Structural, fabrication & exterior works – steel and stainless fabrication, welding repairs, fairlead and hawse pipe works, bow and deck structural reinforcement, boarding systems, ladders, storage fabrication, and exterior equipment modifications.

  • Interior, outfitting & warranty works – interior joinery and cabinetry modifications, leak investigations and rectifications, soft furnishings and canvas works, tender servicing and support systems, safety equipment servicing, and extensive manufacturer warranty and defect correction works across all vessel systems.
